Jhett feeds himself

The other day Jhett slept till the other kids and I were done with breakfast. Since they had to go to school, I went upstairs to do their hair.  I always make Jhett's cereal before I eat so I left it sitting on the table.  Jhett was walking around tearing up the house while I brushed, curled and straitened. After awhile Konner came yelling up the stairs that Jhett was making a huge mess downstairs. He was in fact feeding himself his cereal.  I went down and found him standing on one of the stairs eating away. He was so happy with himself.  I let him finish and then Kielee gave him a bath. Thanks Kielee!!!!

Bragg'n

Just wanted to post a great project Kevin and I worked on. We decided to make a headboard for Aubri's new bed. I wanted to buy one but couldn't find what I wanted in my price range. I drew it out and Kevin put it together. I helped a little but mostly he did it.  When he was done I sanded and painted and sanded and painted till it looked just like I wanted it to. When we put it in her room we decided the dresser looked funny because it was white washed so I took it out and sanded and painted and sanded and painted. Now it all looks great!!! Come and visit and she will let you see it and sleep in a very comfortable queen size bed!!!

The other night I got home and found hearts all over my house.  They were even on the car I had been driving and the car in the driveway.  I can't even remember the last time I was 

"heart-a-ttacked"  Thanks!!!!!

Lots of fun!!

Lots of fun things have been going on in the Kinghorn household in the last two weeks.  Aubri has attended a competition called Science Olympiad that her science teacher asked her to be in.  She even won one of the two medals that her school came home with.  We were all really excited for her. She will be attending the next level of this competition this weekend.  Between that and another robotics competition she is involved in, she has not been home after school for weeks. She is even at school on Saturdays and was there today all day when she had the day off of school.  She keeps me running around, I will be glad when she can drive herself to all these great things!!!

Kevin's mom and dad came to visit with us for a few days. We had a great time!!! We were all so happy to have someone come and visit us for a change. We know they are busy and appreciate their willingness to come and visit.  Aubri was able to receive her Patriarchal Blessing from her grandpa and that was really special. The children were all able to climb to the top of Los Lunas Hill with Kevin and grandpa which they have wanted to do forever. (Of coarse Jhett didn't go but I think we will take him next time.) We were also all able to see Kielee's last basketball game of the season.  She did a great job and is now looking forward to softball that starts in a couple of weeks. Then on Sunday Grandma made us a turkey dinner with all the trimmings.  I mention this because the kids kept asking while she was making it, "Why are we having Thanksgiving dinner??" I guess we don't have turkey to many times a year.  It was wonderful and Jaxon even ate both of the turkey wings and then one of the legs a couple of days later.

Thanks again Grandma and Grandpa for coming to visit.

Aubri turned 14 yesterday. It seems lie the other day I was hoping she would wait to be born after my mid-terms were over. Of coarse she didn't wait and I missed them.  I did make them up and graduated a few months later. She is now a mature young women and a wonderful daughter. She is helpful, loving and very spiritual. She is an example to her brothers and sisters as well as her parents. 

She wanted to go skating for her birthday so she invited three friends and we were off to Roller King. I invited one of my friends as well and we all had a great time. The three girls had never been skating before so it was a real adventure. They all did great and we made it back without any broken bones but some really sore feet.

The next day Aubri and I spent the whole day shopping. We can home to Aubri's favorite dinner and a delicious cake my wonderful friend made for her. What a great couple of days!!! Only 5 more 14 year olds to go!!  

Smart Kids

As usual the kids all did great in school. I love going to parent teacher conference so I can spend some time getting to know the kids teachers more. I certainly don't go to find out how bad my kids are doing. I always walk in and get a report that they are great and they couldn't get any better grades. Then I spend the next 14 minutes talking about other things with the teachers. We have great kids and are really glad that they work so hard in school and try to do their best.

We have a great new school and the kids finally got me to take them to play on the new playground.  (It's not like they don't play on it everyday of the week!! But they were excited to to show me everything.)
